DMX stands for Digital Multiplex and is the connection standard used to transmit control signals to lighting fixtures.
You have a total of 8 different color themes available: 4 for vibrant moods and 4 for mellow. These themes can be selected via the DMX button or the Teufel app.
The ROCKSTER 2 is one of the first portable Bluetooth speakers that can send DMX signals. Connect "RGB lights," such as PARs, LED bars, or RGB light organs.
Note: The ROCKSTER 2 does not support moving heads or strobes.

- Find out what type of light you have

- DMX in the Teufel GO App
You will need the ROCKSTER 2, a lighting system, a DMX cable, and a power strip.
Connect your first light
Connect the lighting system to the ROCKSTER 2. Turn on the devices. Make sure your light is connected to the power supply. Connect additional lighting systems in series using additional DMX cables. Please also ensure power supply for these devices.
Prepare your light
Check the DMX channel mode of your light:
- The DMX mode of your light must data-id="43"3-channel, 4-channel, or 5-channel.
- Check your light's manual to find out how to change this setting.
- If your light is set to 6 channels or more, it will not work with the ROCKSTER 2.
Find out what type of light you have
If you already know your light type (e.g., MRGB, RGBM, etc.), you can skip this step.
- Different lights speak different "languages".
We need to find out which one your light uses. Don’t worry – it’s very easy! - Check your light's manual again to find out how to change the DMX address.
- Test the following three DMX addresses and observe the color patterns:
- Address 040 → If the colors change correctly (Red → Green → Blue), your light is of type MRGB.
- Address 140 → If this works, your light is of type RGBM.
- Address 240 → If this works, your light is of type RGBWM.
- Each address tests a different channel configuration.
The address that displays the correct color sequence tells you the type of your light.
Set your light's channel
Now that you know your light type, set your light to the DMX address for channel 1:
- MRGB lights: Set the address to 010
- RGBM lights: Set the address to 110
- RGBwM lights: Set the address to 210
Finally, your light will now receive the DMX signal from your ROCKSTER 2 and the ROCKSTER 2 will now produce effects on your light.
Quick reference: DMX addresses
Use this table when setting up your lights:
Notes
- Set the lights to 10, 110, or 210 if you want them to react to the bass and create strong effects. At 20, 120, 220, the lights react more to the mids, and at 30, 130, 230, the lights react to hi-hats/treble.
- Each channel divides the audio spectrum into different frequency ranges and assigns them to different colors within your chosen light spectrum. If several lights are set to the same channel, they will display synchronized, identical light shows.
Activate DMX and get started
- Quick press the DMX button on the ROCKSTER 2. DMX is activated. To deactivate DMX, hold the button for 4 seconds.

- You can also use the DMX button to change the color and effect theme and to turn the color change on or off. However, it is more convenient to do this via the app.
