If setting up a Teufel Raumfeld device via Wi-Fi fails (device is not recognized/found), an alternative setup can be done using a LAN cable connection. The LAN cable (network/Ethernet cable) can be removed after the setup is complete.
With this setup method, the Teufel Raumfeld device and the Wi-Fi router are connected by a network cable for the duration of the setup.
Note: Devices from the first generation with an external Wi-Fi antenna usually can only be set up using a wired connection. With newer routers, there may be limitations in LAN communication. For Fritzboxes, it is recommended to test using the 2.5 GBit port (usually LAN1) or the LAN port of a repeater. Alternatively, an older network switch can be temporarily connected in between. For iOS, the setup should ideally be done with an older device without an active mobile connection. If possible, using an Android device is often the more reliable option.
How to start the wired installation:
Android Users
- Connect the streaming device directly to the router with a LAN cable and turn it on
- Start the setup assistant in the app (Settings > Devices > Rooms and Devices > Add a new room or add another playback device to an existing room.)
- Proceed to the screen prompting you to press the setup button > click "next"
- Press the setup button on the Raumfeld device (device-dependent, usually found on the back of the device)
- In the app, tap > "next"
- The device search will now begin
- Once the device is found, simply follow the app’s instructions (setup continues as usual)
iOS Users:
- Connect the streaming device directly to the router with a LAN cable and turn it on
- Start the setup (Settings > Devices > Rooms and Devices > Add a new room or add another playback device to an existing room.)
- Proceed to the screen prompting you to press the setup button, click "next"
- Press the setup button on the Raumfeld device
- In the app, tap "next"
- On the following screen, please select the button "Help, the Wi-Fi is not showing" (scroll three images to the right). If both LEDs are blinking, simply tap "next" in the corresponding window. If they are not blinking, please restart the setup and the device completely.
- The device search for the wired installation will follow
- Once the device is found, simply follow the app’s instructions (setup continues as usual)
