If you want to reset a Teufel Streaming/Raumfeld device to the state it was in when it was delivered, as well as delete all personal data, please follow the instructions below. If you want to keep personal settings, use the Restore/Repair option.
#
Note: Performing this step may help if, for example, the system does not boot completely. It will not help with problems accessing music resources from streaming services or network storage (NAS) or dropouts during playback or sluggish performance.

Below you will find instructions for reinstalling the firmware for the respective device generations:
Teufel 3rd generation streaming devices (all devices with Teufel lettering on the front except Teufel Soundbar/Sounddeck Streaming and Teufel Connector).
You can recognize the 3rd generation by the existing LED strip
Under the following link you will find the file "speaker3.img", which you please save on an empty USB stick (max. 4 GB, FAT32 formatted):
For the Teufel Streamer the following link applies > https://updates.raumfeld.com/images/connect3.img
Note: The file does not represent an image despite the known file extension (IMG) but is a so-called memory image. Trying to open the file with an image editing program will therefore generate a supposed error message. Just save the file as downloaded directly to a USB stick and do not try to open the file with an image program.
After that, please proceed as follows:
- First, turn off the speaker by either setting the power switch on the back to OFF or disconnecting the power supply, depending on the device. Please perform this step even if the device is (supposedly) already switched off.
- Then insert the USB stick into the USB port of the active speaker.
- Now insert a paper clip into the reset hole on the back of the active speaker.
- Keep the paper clip pressed while you turn on the device by changing the switch to ON or by connecting the device at the back.
- Please keep the paperclip pressed for another 10 seconds.
The installation process is now underway and may take up to 5 minutes. During the process, the device will go through different stages, which can be recognized by the LEDs:
- Firmware is being loaded (LED strip flashes first on the left, then on the right; about 1 minute).
- Firmware is installed (LED strip flashes alternately every second; about 3 minutes)
- Device is restarted (LED strip flashes left, then right; about 1 minute)
- Installation is complete (device can now be set up again)
If the LED strip flashes hectically alternately, the image was not found or is incompletely loaded. Then download the firmware again and start again with step 1.
Teufel soundbar/deck streaming, Teufel X Rosenthal as well as all 2nd generation devices (except Raumfeld/Teufel Connector).
You can recognize 2nd generation devices by the 2 LEDs on the front of the device (no external WLAN antenna).
Under the following link you will find the firmware file for your device, which you please save on an empty USB stick (max. 4 GB, FAT32 formatted):
Note: Despite the well-known file extension (IMG), the file does not represent an image but is a so-called memory image. Trying to open the file with an image editor will therefore generate a supposed error message. Just save the file as downloaded directly to a USB stick and do not try to open the file with an image program.
After that, please proceed as follows:
- First, disconnect the power cable of the system. Please perform this step even if the device is already turned off.
- Then insert the USB stick into the USB port on the back of the device.
- Now insert a paper clip into the reset opening on the back of the device.
- Keep the paper clip pressed while plugging in the power cable of the device. Make sure that the button in the reset opening remains pressed down by the paper clip.
- Please keep the paper clip pressed for another 10 seconds and then remove it.
The installation process is now underway and can take up to 5 minutes. During the process, different stages are passed through, which can be recognized by the LEDs:
- Firmware is being loaded (the left LED is lit, then the right one; about 1 minute).
- Firmware is installed (both LEDs flash alternately every second; about 3 minutes)
- The device is restarted (left LED lights up, then the right one; about 1 minute)
- Installation is complete (left LED lights up, right LED flashes every 5 seconds)
If the LEDs flash alternately in a hectic manner, the image was not found or is incompletely loaded. Then download the firmware again and start again with step 1.
Raumfeld devices of the 1st generation (all Raumfeld devices with external WLAN antenna)
You can recognize 1st generation devices by their outer WLAN antenna.
Under the following link you will find the file "speaker.img", please save it on an empty USB stick (max. 1 GB, FAT32 formatted):
Note: Despite the well-known file extension (IMG), the file is not an image but a so-called memory image. Trying to open the file with an image editing program will therefore generate a supposed error message. Just save the file as downloaded directly to a USB stick and do not try to open the file with an image program.
After that, please proceed as follows:
- First, turn off the device by turning off the power switch on the back panel. Please perform this step even if the device is (supposedly) already switched off.
