Other Possible Causes?
The previous tips did not help or there are other issues? Please go through the following checklist. Also, for questions about a specific Teufel product, please refer to the manual of your product under the sections "Connecting" and "Troubleshooting."
Compatibility and Software
☐ Are firmware and software up to date?
Keep your headphones’ firmware and your mobile device’s software up to date. Updates fix known bugs and improve connection stability. Information about updates can be found here.
☐ Is the device technically compatible?
Bluetooth devices are generally compatible with each other. If problems persist, test the connection with another Bluetooth transmitter, such as another smartphone.
Bluetooth Connection
☐ Does your device support Bluetooth as a transmitter?
Teufel headphones are Bluetooth receivers and require a device that can send Bluetooth audio signals. Not every TV or computer supports this function. For older TVs, an external Bluetooth transmitter can help.
☐ Connection is not established?
Delete the saved Bluetooth connection on both devices and start pairing again.
☐ Connection frequently drops?
- Reduce the distance between transmitter and headphones.
- Remove possible obstacles such as walls or metal objects.
- Temporarily turn off other electronic devices nearby to rule out interference.
Sound and Device Issues
☐ Headphones are recognized but no sound is heard?
Check the volume on the playback device and on the headphones. Also, make sure no mute is activated.
☐ Headphones are recognized but cannot be selected?
For devices with microphones, it may be necessary to allow access to external microphones in the privacy settings.
Saved Bluetooth Devices
☐ Is the Bluetooth device list full?
Many devices store up to eight Bluetooth receivers. Delete the list if necessary and pair again. How to do this is explained in the respective user manual or here.
Apple Devices
☐ Are you using an Apple device?
- Disable and re-enable Bluetooth via system settings.
- If necessary, reset the Bluetooth module using the debug function.
What if Nothing Works?
Perform a systematic troubleshooting and check whether any of the devices might be defective hardware-wise—for example, by testing with other Bluetooth devices.
