What is the difference between the ULTIMA 40 ACTIVE and ULTIMA 40 ACTIVE 3?
There are two generations of our product, the ULTIMA 40 ACTIVE and ULTIMA 40 ACTIVE 3. The differences are mainly superficial. The second generation, ULTIMA 40 ACTIVE 3, has been visually redesigned and offers a more modern appearance. Can I connect my TV directly to the ULTIMA 40 ACTIVE / ACTIVE 3?
Yes, the ULTIMA 40 ACTIVE / ACTIVE 3 can be connected directly to the TV and then serves as a fully-fledged TV sound system.
Which connection is best suited for the TV?
The best connection is via HDMI with audio return channel (ARC). This allows the TV to automatically recognize the speaker system and output the sound via the ULTIMA 40 ACTIVE. The connection is made via the "TV IN" socket. (see illustration above)
What should I do if my TV does not support HDMI ARC?
In this case, there are two alternatives:
OPTICAL IN (TOSLINK): Connection via an optical digital cable.
AUX IN (RCA): Connection via an analog RCA cable or via the TV's headphone output with an AUX to RCA adapter.
Note: With these alternatives, the sound output on the TV may have to be switched manually.
Can I connect a subwoofer to the ULTIMA 40 ACTIVE / ACTIVE 3?
Yes, an external subwoofer can be connected via the "SUB OUT" socket using a mono cinch cable to amplify the bass foundation. (see illustration above)
