Starting from firmware update 2.11, the Spotify Connect option can also be used with a Spotify Free account.
Supported Devices
This function is available exclusively for the following 3rd generation devices:
- Teufel STREAMER
- Teufel ONE S
- Teufel ONE M
- Teufel Stereo M
- Teufel STEREO L
- CINEBAR Lux
If in doubt, you can recognize the 3rd generation by the existing LED strip:
Using Spotify Connect
When connecting to the speaker for the first time, all devices must be on the same Wi-Fi network.
- Open Spotify and start playing music.
- Tap
at the bottom of the screen.
- Select the device you want to play music through.
Note: If you pause playback for more than 10 minutes, you may need to reconnect.
Using the Spotify Connect Option with Multiroom Systems
- The Multiroom mode can be activated in the Teufel Raumfeld app (Menu > Spotify > Multiroom)
- For mixed multiroom systems (devices of the 2nd and 3rd generation), a third-generation device must be defined as the host. The host can be viewed and changed under the following menu path > Menu > Settings > Network Settings > Change Host Configuration
Troubleshooting
Note: Currently, it may happen that Spotify Connect is no longer displayed as an option. You can find reasons for this and possible workarounds in the Spotify support area, for example here: https://community.spotify.com/t5/Android/Choose-between-Google-Cast-and-Spotify-Connect/td-p/7163965/page/7 (external link)
Device not showing up?
- If you see several devices with the same name (e.g. iPhone), try connecting to each device one after the other.
- Log in to your Spotify account on all devices. This way, you should see your device in the Spotify app, even if it is not connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
- In the Spotify app, disable “Show local devices only” so that devices not on the same Wi-Fi network are also displayed.
- The web player only displays devices with an active login or cast devices. If your device is not shown, use the Spotify app instead.
- On iPhones: Allow access to “Local Network” in the settings. Go to Settings > Spotify > Local Network and enable the function.
Spotify Connect not working?
- Restart the Spotify app, your devices, and your Wi-Fi (router).
- Make sure the Spotify app and the software on all your devices are up to date.
- Both devices must be on the same Wi-Fi network. If necessary, try a different network.
- Make sure that “Display over other apps” is enabled for Spotify on your Android TV. Go to Settings > Apps > Special app access > Display over other apps.
Additional troubleshooting:
- Close the Spotify app completely, including in the background. In some cases, reinstalling the Spotify app has also helped.
- Are you also using the Spotify app with the same account on other devices or on the desktop? If so, update those apps and/or close them temporarily.
- Are you using Spotify Multiroom via the Teufel Raumfeld app? If so, note that under "Available Devices" only the Spotify zone will be shown, not the individual speakers. - Temporarily disable the multiroom option in the Teufel Raumfeld app as a test.
