Teufel banana plugs are connection adapters that ensure reliable audio signal transmission while enabling quick disconnection and connection.
Using banana plugs helps to avoid frayed cable ends.
The plugs are designed for speaker cables with a cross-section up to 4 mm². The cable is secured in the plug via a screw clamp, ensuring a firm hold.
The contact surfaces are gold-plated. This protects the contacts from corrosion and oxidation and supports consistently high contact quality over the long term. The gold plating thus increases the durability of the connection.
Banana plugs are especially suitable:
- for setups with frequent reconnections, e.g., if you regularly place your speakers in different locations or temporarily set them aside for cleaning
- for changing speaker configurations, e.g., stereo on the computer and 5.1 on the TV
- for tight connection fields, i.e., when many connections are very close together and there is little space for fingers or cables
- to avoid bare cable ends with individual strands causing short circuits
- if you value neat, secure, and standardized wiring

Connecting the Teufel Banana Plugs
- If the cable ends are not yet exposed, first strip about one centimeter of insulation from the ends.
- Then unscrew the threaded screw on the top of the banana plug.
- If necessary, twist the copper strands and insert the cable end into the side opening of the banana plug.
- Now tighten the screw again.
- Then insert the banana plug into the respective speaker input or amplifier output.
Tip: On some amplifiers or receivers, the speaker connections are covered by protective caps. These can usually be removed to use banana plugs.
