Using Internet Radio (Radio Station or Podcast) via airable


This article describes how you can use Internet radio (radio stations or podcasts) via the radio portal airable.fm (external link).

Requirement to Use Internet Radio (Radio Station or Podcast)

Your MUSICSTATION/ your RADIO 3SIXTY / your KOMBO 62 Mk2 CD Receiver must be connected to the internet. 

To receive internet radio, your MUSICSTATION/ your RADIO 3SIXTY / your KOMBO 62 Mk2 CD Receiver requests a list of available stations from airable (formerly from "Frontier Nuvola Smart Radio"), which is already divided into various categories. When you select a station, your device connects directly to the broadcaster via the internet.

Using airable.portal 

To use the portal for managing favorites, airable requires registration. Go to airable.fm and register. 

During registration, you must enter a "Connect Code." You can find this by playing an Internet radio station on the device, then pressing the menu button, selecting "Station List," and then "My Saved Stations." The code displayed here is valid for 10 minutes. Enter this code on airable.fm. 

Saving Favorites

  • Search for the radio station or podcast in the catalog. Clicking the star icon adds it as a favorite.Lesezeichen
  • You can play your favorites on your MUSICSTATION / your RADIO 3SIXTY/your KOMBO 62 Mk2 CD Receiver by selecting "Station List" and then "My Saved Stations" in the menu. 

Managing Favorites

  • On the "Your Content" page, you can view, delete, and edit personal streams. New favorites can be added via the "Stations" and "Podcasts" pages.
  • Sorting - Favorites and personal streams can be sorted alphabetically or manually. Use the "Alphabetical" or "Manual" buttons to change this.
  • To sort your content manually, click the "Manual" button, then click and drag the right side of the content up or down.

  • Directories – you can also place favorites and personal streams into directories. Use the "New Directory" button at the top to create directories. Favorites and personal streams can then be moved into directories. Click a station to select it, then click the "Move" button and choose where to move the content.

  • Deleting – A favorite can be removed from a favorites group by clicking the trash can icon to the right of the station information.

Saving Your Own / Personal Stream URLs in the Portal

You can also save stations that airable does not offer via the airable account. 

  1. Click the "+Add Stream" button in the "Streams" section.
  2. Enter the title of your personal stream and then the URL of your personal stream.
  3. Click the "Save" button.

Stations entered here will then appear under "Internet Radio" as a selected source under "Station List → My Saved Stations" – both on the MUSICSTATION / RADIO 3SIXTY/KOMBO 62 Mk2 CD Receiver itself and via the Remote App. Supported formats are HTTPS (only the current MUSICSTATION / RADIO 3SIXTY/ KOMBO 62 Mk2 CD Receiver), MP3, AAC, ASF, DASH.
