Bug Fixes:

  • Fixed an issue where the device could enter standby or turn off while the Bluetooth module was updating (DFU mode). The device now stays on until the update is complete.
  • Charge mode now resets to Battery Friendly mode after a power cycle. Previously, the default charge type was Fast Charge.
  • Fixed an issue where saved EQ (bass/treble) settings were not applied after startup. The device now correctly restores your EQ preferences instead of reverting to a flat sound profile.
  • Fixed an issue with the volume slider in the app, that sometimes would not keep its value after restating the device.
  • Fixed an issue where settings were not reset to the default values after factory reset, i.e. system sounds were still disabled and battery-friendly charging was disabled. A factory reset will now reset all values to default ones. 
  • Fixed a security issue in the Google Fast Pair Service
  • Eco Mode setting change through hardware button combination is now reflected in the Teufel Go app

Firmware Update instructions

The following are instructions for performing updates on the MCU and BT components of the MYND speaker:

1. MCU Firmware Update via USB Drag and Drop

  1. Power on the unit
  2. Hold down both the Power and Volume Minus ➖ for 8-10 seconds until the Power LED begins periodically flashing red
    1. The unit is now in update mode and will remain in this mode until the update is completed (or the battery is removed)
  3. Plug the unit into a computer using a USB-C cable with data transfer capability (cheaper ones may only provide power)
    1. The computer will automatically recognize the speaker and display it within the file explorer as a volume named TEUFEL (in the same way most USB drives typically appear)
  4. Download the file https://docs.teufel.de/download/MYND/mynd-update-firmware-mcu-v1.5.0.bin to the download folder (Download link)
  5. Open a TEUFEL volume folder window and a download folder window side by side
  6. Select the mynd-update-firmware-mcu-v1.5.0.bin file from the download folder, drag it over to the TEUFEL folder window, and drop/release it
    1. The TEUFEL volume will then automatically apply the MCU firmware update
    2. Once completed, the Power LED with flash green and the unit reboots.

2. BT Firmware Over-The-Air Update via Teufel Go app

  1. Install the Teufel Go phone app
  2. Follow app’s instructions to link the MYND speaker to the app
  3. Once linked, the Teufel Go app automatically checks the firmware versions
  4. If BT new firmware version is available, the app will request to perform the OTA update
  5. Select the option to update and wait briefly for the update to complete
