Spotify is popular music and audiobook streaming provider. The selection of music is always up-to-date and extensive. Spotify can either be used for a fee (subscription or as part of a mobile phone contract) or free of charge with a limited range of functions, but ad-financed.
All paid Spotify subscriptions offer additionally so-called premium features compared to the free offer, including the option of offline use or Spotify Connect. With a Spotify Free account the connect function can also be used in combination with a CINEBAR LUX as an exception.
Teufel systems and Spotify Connect
The Spotify Connect feature allows users to select supporting network-enabled devices to play a stream directly from the Spotify app. The Spotify app becomes a remote control.
All current products from the Teufel Streaming (Raumfeld) series and the RADIO 3SIXTY support Spotify Connect, provided they are logged into the same WiFi as the smart device with the Spotify app.
This is how you get to the "Available devices" menu within the Spotify app.
Open the Spotify app, select any song/audiobook/podcast and start playing. Below the "Play" button, you will now see the "Available Devices" menu when playback is active. Tap it to access the list of available players.
I can't access the Spotify "Available Devices" menu (Spotify Connect) or my devices are not displayed there. What could be the reason for this?
The use of Spotify Connect currently requires a paid Spotify subscription (Spotify Premium) for all supported Teufel devices (except for the CINEBAR LUX, which can be used wit a free account). So if your device does not appear under "Available devices", please check the status of your Spotify subscription first.
