Often you can find in the technical data a specification of the impedance in the physical value Ohm. By far the most common values are 4 or 8 ohms. This value means that a speaker, which has an impedance of 4 ohms, must be connected to an amplifier that can "overcome" this resistance with sufficient power.
As a rule, you can set the impedance of the amplifier. Many models, therefore, have an impedance switch, with which you can easily choose between 4 and 8 ohms.
Theoretically, an 8-ohm speaker can also be operated with a 4-ohm amplifier, but you will not reach the full volume. Please use higher volumes in this combination with caution to avoid overheating the amplifier.
